Welcome to the weekend, and welcome to the Saturday 7.
Giver Paul Young has a unique giving strategy that involves strategic gifts that help him form close relationships with charity leaders to discover their needs. But instead of just interviewing Paul, we talked to two charity leaders he supports and discovered five ways any giver can better support the ministry he or she cares about.
When Clyde and Sue Lear were thinking about selling their business, some longtime friends and peer mentors stopped them. Knowing their charitable intentions, they encouraged them to talk to NCF first, so they did. They gifted a portion of their business to NCF, and later, when it sold, the money went into their Giving Fund. Find out what they did with it next.
When we talk to givers, some books come up over and over again because they challenge their thinking. Francis Chan’s Crazy Love is one of those books. One person explained that this book “hits you right where your idol is.” If you’re wanting to go deeper in your giving or just your walk with the Lord and you’re needing a challenge, read this book.
Since 2020, a serious decrease in physical contact has contributed to a decline in mental health. Humans need physical contact, and research shows that giving a hug may be the most generous thing you can do.
Saturday 7 is brought to you by our team at the National Christian Foundation (NCF). We would love to help you create your Giving Strategy™, so you can experience more joy and adventure as you pursue a life of generosity. Find an NCF location near you at ncfgiving.com/locations.
